Driving on a dirt road

Colorado springs viewed from the mountain

looking down at the flats of colorado

such a cool combination of colors

Besides hiking at Dome Rock, Chad, Cameron and I took Gold Camp Rd to Colorado Springs. It is such a pretty drive and the fall colors were beauiftul!! Here are a few pictures from that drive. I do have to say that shelf road was smoother than gold camp but both pretty drives.

Dome Rock Hike

Monday was a fun day for Chad's coffee break, which means that is only one day off between day and night shifts. Anyways, the family went to Dome Rock to go hiking. We didn't do the whole hike. Besides most of us being out of shape, we had other plans as well. So we only hiked for two hours or so. It was really cool and we decided that we needed to get a hiking back carrier for Cameron instead of using the BOB stroller. The stroller did great but some spots were hard. Espeically with going back up hill with rocks in the path. :) What a workout! But fall is pretty in the mountains but the colors are not the same as back east. But the gold in the aspen trees are wonderful!

real gold or fool's good?

hiking in Daddy's arms

Cam holding his "wand" (aka stick... i've been reading Harry Potter :))

Pretty marsh (not really a lake)

Pretty rock formation (not the Dome)

can't you see the smile behind that pacifier

Look at me!

I took pictures of my cute little man yesterday. Of course I had closeups because he for some reason wanted my camera! what a cute boy! Also my niece Baili caught a mountain garter snake the other day when she was coming home from school. Crazy girl, all dressed in pink and holding the snake, or "snakey" as she named it. :)Kids are funny!

Looking for..

So lately I've been wanting to do something creative. And I have ideas finally but.. how to do without spending lots and lots of money. My mother-in-law has an embriodery machine and I've been looking at those designs for some ideas. and oh my goodness, talk about cute things! The disney cds have so much on them. I can see shirts for me, chad, cam, and others. :) So here I go to learn about this machine and hopefully do some of it on my own. Here is to finding something to do!
Also, we borrowed P90x from one of our friends. I have started it today and talk about being out of shape! Here is to a future slimmer me (and Chad when he starts it too). Nothing else to really report. Except that Cameron got his first bruise (that I at least got a picture of). He fell onto his counting turtle toy (which isn't soft) with the stool on top of him. Yeah, he has a small bruise, but he is a tough boy and pulled through. :( But I know that this is just the first of many bruises espeically if he bruises anything like me.

Going to the State Fair

Early September, we decided to go the to Colorado State Fair on one of Chad's days off. It was a fun day that we had as a family. We got to see some cool things and just get out and walk around for the day. We also took Shelf Road down to Canyon City. Wow.. a very pretty drive. Shelf Rd was what the pony express used to deliever mail between our town and canyon city. so cool! Here are some pictures from that day!

Nothing like family

We finally had family pictures taken! Two lovely ladies from church did them in late July and early August. And I must say that we LOVE them! They did an amazing job. Cam is seven months in these pictures and all I can say is... there is nothing like family :)
