Hunting Eggs

CAm, Baili and the Easter bunny
Cam and I waiting in line for the egg hunt to start
Easter was a lot of fun this year. On Saturday, I took Cameron and his cousin Baili and her friend to the egg hunt in town. It was a lot of fun. Cam was in the age group 0-3 and could only find 5 eggs to make it fair for everyone in the group. Instead of finding eggs right behind us, Cam took off across the lot and then went left then straight then left again to find his eggs! He did a great job of finding, picking them up and bringing them back to me. :) He was SO cute! He was also so curious of the people dressed up as Peter Cottontail and the Easter Bunny, and two donkeys (due to our town donkeys). He didn't know what to think of them at first then got to touch one to feel their "fur" and then kept pointing at them. Not because he wanted to be held or touched by them but because I think he wanted to "pet" them. Lol! My cute boy who is so used to animals!!
On Sunday once Daddy got home from work, we did a small family egg hunt upstairs. Of course, I hid the eggs in plain sight but it was still fun to watch Cam. Espeically when he would find an egg and go "oh". :) So cute! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. He will be sixteen months on the 17th. Two more months and he is in nursery at church! I'm excited and a little sad too... but I know Cam will LOVE it! :

Feeding the giraffes!
It was so much fun having a good family day on Chad's week off in March. We went to the zoo down in Colorado Springs. Even with it being the week of spring break, we saw the whole zoo in about 3 hours or so. The best (and our favorite part) was feeding the giraffes! Cameron didn't know what to think of their tongues but it was so cool! Cam stayed awake the whole time we were there. As we were eating our lunch, we ran into one of our friends from church and her two cute girls. :) After the zoo and being in the sun ALL day, we met up with Chad's mom at goodwill and I got some shorts for the summer! So excited! :)

Still following in March

Here are some OLD pictures from last year.. that I just haven't posted..better late than never!
Cam and his cousin all locked up in a dog carrier
Static hair!
Playing with Grandpa Corder's christmas present!
What did Santa bring?
Opening first present.. he had fun ripping the paper!
Poor Chad...after getting so sick in Feburary what happens on his week off at the end of the month and the beginning of March? He gets sick of course! He has sore throat, cough, headache...poor guy of mine. I don't know where he is picking it all up from. Our best guess is from the gold mine since it is that time of year where sickness gets passed around. So yeah, he is just so tired of being sick all the time. All I have to say is that I hope he doesn't get sick at his next week off.. I want to go to the zoo!!
Other than that...there isn't much going on with us. CAmeron is as busy as ever. Still not much on the talking side yet, but will get there. He can now climb onto all of the couches on the main floor. He is such a smart cookie and I just don't know always what to do with him. Today was fun because he "helped" me vaccum and take out the dirty water to throw out. He LOVED being outside. I am so going to have to do that more with him. Of course, he doesn't always listen when I say "Come here" when he runs off. can you say independent?

Crazy January...Sickness February

I realize I have been slacking on my blog. Yeah, the title says it ALL. January was just wow.. where did it go? First off, my sister-in-law and her family moved into the house with their three cats and their stuff? For those you may not know.. how BIG is this house? Thank goodness it has three levels and bathrooms! They are currently in the basement right now. So that was early January. The day after they moved in, Chad's parents left for Indiana because Grandpa Corder wasn't doing well at all. They stayed the rest of January. Chad's grandpa passed away and they stayed on to help Grandma with different things. That night they returned back home to Colorado, Cameron and I had gotten sick that day. Thank goodness that Chad was off for a few days because I needed him home! He took care of Cam on Wednesday because I could only take care of myself. The next day: Chad, Vickie, Baili, Rod, and my mother-in-law were all sick with the same thing! I could mess more with Cam. Then on Friday, my father-in-law got sick too. So all 8 people in the house were sick! Of course, everyone else bounced back faster than Cameron and I because I was up half the night with Cam. Cam was sick for almost a week but i'm glad he is so much better! Ever since being that sick, he tells you when he doesn't want to eat something. And that is so wierd because he used to eat everything! And now he throws fits and screams. I'm trying to work him back into normal routine and working on the throwing fits. So hard to be so patient!! So that is where we are in this crazy tale of the corder family! I just hope we do not get that bug again! It was so miserable!!! A few cute things that Cam is doing now: he stomps his feet as if he was dancing (so cute!) and signs "more" and "please" (we are working on thank you), walks and climbs everything, throws kisses and waves at everyone! We just need to work on him talking more.. just another step to do :) And tomorrow he turns 14 months!!! Crazy!

a LATE christmas letter

A Corder Christmas 2011

This year has been filled with new adventures for the Corder family.

Chad had a great season with Breckenridge and enjoyed the snow. With the ending of the snow season, he put in his application at the Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mine to drive a huge dump truck. During the first physical, the doctor found that he had a hernia that needed to be taken care of before he got the job. He had the surgery, which went well. After his healing time, Chad had to take the new physical and passed! Since June, he has been driving the dump truck which means he sits about 20 feet in the air and the tire is 12 feet tall. A big TONKA truck as he calls it. Even with the crazy rotating schedule from 12 hour night shifts to 12 hour day shifts, he likes what he is doing. It is great to have a constant income. He is also part time at Breckenridge to have his snow days :)

Diana spends her days as a mom 24/7. Other than that, a few fun things that have happened are: the Robison family came out to visit and got to meet their cute little man; flew out to Ohio for a while to visit family and friends; Renaissance festival; went to Salt Lake City for a wedding.

Cameron has grown so much! He is now keeping everyone busy with his fast crawling and climbing moves to get to the ferret cage. His teeth started to invade in early November with three coming in at once and the fourth has just begun in early December. He turns one on the 17th and it is amazing how much time flies by. Perhaps when this reaches everyone, he could be walking, or maybe running! He will walk along everything and if we hold his hands. He makes life fun and very busy for everyone.

It is amazing how quickly another year has gone by. The Lord has truly blessed us with the job at the gold mine and all the good health and safety in the family. We love you all and wish you a Merry Christmas!

December in a nutshell

Oh my goodness! December was crazy, espeically the end of the month! Here is what went down for the Corder clan:
My mom flew out to visit us for a few days.. mostly for Cameron's first birthday! It was fun. We had some people over, had food, and a bear cake (which Chad's mom made.. so cute! and Daddy helped to decorate it). When it was time for him to dig into the cake, he wanted nothing to do with it! Chad even put his hands in it to get it messy but that just made him cry. I think Cam was overwhelmed with everything going on. But he got some cute presents! I wish I could say that I had pictures to post but sadly, I didn't take any! But I have everything on our camcorder! Oh well, next year I will do both. :)
We had a fun time with my mom being out here. We even had a small Christmas with her here. That was the day that we gave Chad's parents their BIG gifts.. but.. they had clues to find which led to their gifts.. sneaky huh? It was so fun! Chad's mom recieved a dog shock collar for Bear, and his dad got new skis! He so wasn't expecting those.. and got them on the camcorder too! :) One of my mom's gifts from us was tickets to the local theatre which was performing "The Christmas Donkey". It was so much fun and way cute! Needless to say that Chad and I are playing on making the shows part of our date nights when they perform. :) Sadly, on my mom's last day Chad and I were sick! And.. we got her sick.. so she flew home being sick. :(
Christmas Day was a lot of fun: there was a baptism at church; came home to a wonderful meal! Had family over to do gifts. We all made out like bandits! Chad even Gorilla taped a whole box! So fun for me to open :) But it was a wonderful day. We ended it with watching "The Nativity", such a good movie to remind us all what the day really represents.
So after Christmas... life has been crazy! When is it every dull here? So Chad and I are going to get our transmission for the explorer rebuilt (there goes about $1500 to $1800), my sister in law and her family are moving into the basement for a while.. yeah.. this house is so FULL! But there it is: December and the beginning year in a nutshell. But the Lord has truly blessed us with so much!
Stay tuned for pictures and stuff.. and more info on us trying to get Chad to school!

Happy Four Years (plus a few days)

On December 1st, Chad and I celebrated being married for four years. Seriously, where has the time gone? It has been a great four years... he is an amazing man and I am so lucky to have his forever! We didn't do much since he worked that day and the next day at Breckenridge. But I did get him the gift that I've been working on for months! We have always wanted to make a memory quilt of places we have been. and that is what I've been doing. Chad's dad showed me how to transfer designs from the computer to the designer 1 embriodery machine. Chad's mom helped me by showing me what to do, put the material in the hoops, and sewed them together. It is not finished yet, but it looks so good. Needless to say that it was a team effort and the best, that chad had NO idea! :) he was surprised! and now he can help me finish by choosing designs. I will have to find my camera and take some pictures to post. :) Here is to more years to come!
