Chad, Cam, and I are at Vail this weekend. It is a nice little get away for the three of us. Chad is taking a children's creditation course to learn how to teach children how to snowboard. He is a little nervous since it is a LOT of information but even if he doesn't pass it he says that the information he has learned will help with Cameron in all aspects of life. :) That in itself is worth it. So we are staying at the Arrabelle...talk about wow! It's a five star hotel and it is just nice. Chad's parents came to stay our first night (thursday) so Dad could go skiing at Vail in the morning. Poor Cam.. he had no idea what was going on. He was in a different location, different crib, and in the same room as us! Needless to say that first night was HARD for me. I put Cam down like I normally do but he was up just so much.. The crib matteress is all the way on the bottom of the crib whereas our crib I don't have to reach that far to put him down. So every time I went to lay him down for bed (he would start asleep in my arms) he would wake up half way down into the crib. AH! It was frustrating since I was trying to make sure Cam wouldn't keep everyone up. Yeah, I was exhausted the next morning as was Cam. The only reason I got a nap, as well as Cam, was Chad's mom. She took him and rocked him to sleep and just held him so he would stay asleep. When I woke up an hour and half later, give or take, I was still exhausted but oh well. It felt great to have a nap! I haven't been that tired since I had him! But anyways...after Chad got back to the room, we went out walking and looking at stores. Cam fell asleep so quickly in the BOB stroller!! Thanks to the bricks which give a little vibrations like our dirt roads. Last night we ate at a nice resturant where we spent a little too much on food but it was good! Cam did great!! He even charmed a couple whose table was near ours and we got to talking. Cam didn't talk much or anything like that while we were there. But once that lady started talking to him, oh my goodness! Cam was just making all sorts of noise and talking to her. It was SO cute! I don't think he has ever talked like that for strangers. :) It might have helped that the lady might have reminded him of his grandma corder. Cam did pretty well with sleeping last night. Since it was just Chad and I, when I put him in the crib for bed after his feeding, Cam was asleep for a little bit and then just woke up and started to cry. So we just let him cry and he finally put himself to sleep. He woke up two times in the night which wasn't that fun for me or Chad, but oh well. That can be normal for him even when we are at home. So Chad is back on the mountain this morning while Cam and I are in the hotel room. and I am FINALLY getting to write here. I'm excited that we are here but will be ready to get back home tomorrow. On another note: Chad is having surgery next Friday for his hernia (spelling?) and the doctor said SIX weeks of no heavy lifting (anything over twenty pounds! which Cam is like 16, give or take). So now we are trying to figure out what Heavenly Father wants us to do. and we are just praying that our family doctor will say something else instead of six weeks so the gold mine will give chad the job again. all we can do is pray and that is what we are going to do! :) Anyways, love from Vail Colorado!!
